Additional General Secretary of Pakistan TehreekeInsaf (PTI) Sindh and head of PTI Management Cell Sindh (PMC) Rizwan Niazi, expressed his concerns over the current political situation while speaking to the media at Insaf House. He referred to the Supreme Court’s decision on Article 63A, stating that it was clear that any vote cast by a dissenting member of the assembly against party policy would not be counted, and their membership would be terminated.
He urged that if this decision is overturned, it would pave the way for horsetrading in the country. Niazi added that the ruling coalition had previously attempted to amend the constitution but failed due to insufficient parliamentary support. Now, they seek to promote horsetrading through a review petition on Article 63A.
Rizwan Niazi lamented that there is no rule of law in the country, and the government is following the “might is right” approach. He emphasized that the nation is already suffering from economic crises and cannot bear further constitutional turmoil. Furthermore, he criticized the lack of importance given to public opinion, pointing out that elected representatives are being ousted through a conspiracy involving forged Form47 documents.
He also accused the current government of being led by corrupt politicians with a history of involvement in massive corruption cases, which were dismissed under a NRO. Niazi stressed that without upholding the rule of law and respecting public opinion, the country cannot progress.
He urged lawmakers to prioritize public interests over personal gains when legislating in parliament. He also accused the ruling party (PDM) of being focused on breaking Imran Khan and PTI, saying that Khan remains a popular leader with the full support of the nation.
