Karachi, November 19, 2020 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that 16 more patients of COVID-19 died overnight in Sindh, lifting the death toll to 2780 and 1,193 new cases emerged when 14,470 tests were conducted. In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said that 16 more patients lost their lives while struggling against coronavirus, lifting the death toll to 2780 that constituted 1.8 percent death rate.
Shah said that 14470 samples were tested which diagnosed 1,193 cases that came to 8.2 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 1,859,287 tests have been conducted against which 159,752 cases were detected, of them 90 percent or 144,316 patients recovered, including 260 overnight.
The CM said that currently, 12,656 patients were under treatment, including 12,119 in home isolation, eight at isolation centers and 529 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 449 patients was stated to be critical, of them 47 have been shifted to ventilators.
The chief minister said that out of 1193 cases, 837 have been detected from Karachi, of them 324 East, 218 South, 119 Korangi, 109 Central, 45 Malir and 22 West. He added that Hyderabad has 143 cases, Sukkur 19, Matirai 18, Umerkot 14, Shaheed Benazirabad and Dadu 11 each, Thatta 10, Mirpurkhas and Ghotki eight each, Jamshoro seven, Jacobabad, Kambar and Naushehro Feroze five each, Sanghar and Tando Allahyar three each, Badin and Shikarpur two each, Kashmore and Khairpur one each. Shah urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
