Nations that forget their history and culture eventually fade away, Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad cautioned today during a ceremony at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation headquarters marking Sindhi Culture Day.
Addressing the gathering, Murad emphasized that Sindh’s magnificent civilization, traditions, and cultural heritage are a core identity, and celebrating this day with full passion is a collective responsibility. He highlighted the message of peace, love, and harmony rooted in the land’s civilization as essential.
He described the Sindhi cap and Ajrak as centuries-old symbols of dignity, honor, and hospitality, affirming them as an everlasting identity.
The Deputy Mayor noted that the cultural day is not only a joyful occasion but also a moment to renew the commitment to pass on language and traditions to future generations.
Calling education the fundamental pillar for the development of Sindh”s society, Murad urged parents to adorn their children-especially daughters-with the “jewel of education.”
He added that the Sindh government is making full efforts to advance development, quality education, and better facilities across the province.
The Deputy Mayor expressed hope that the land of Sindh will continue to spread a global message of peace, brotherhood, and unity.
The event was also attended by Habibuddin Junaidi, Javed Nagori, President of People’s Labour Bureau Karachi Division Aslam Samoon, and other officials.
