Curbs in Srinagar, Juma prayers not allowed at Jamia Masjid

Srinagar, July 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities, today, did not allow to offer Friday prayers in historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar as restrictions were imposed ahead of the second martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

Indian troops had martyred Burhan Wani along with his two associates in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on July 8, 2016. Burhan’s martyrdom had triggered mass uprising against the Indian occupation in Kashmir and the men in uniform had killed around 120 civilians to crush the uprising.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed Shaheed Burhan Muzaffar Wani as the pride of Kashmir and the founder of new age resistance, paid rich and glowing tributes to all those martyred in 2016 uprising.

He remembered and paid glowing tributes to the charismatic commander and young leader, Shaheed Burhan Wani, on eve of his second martyrdom anniversary. The spokesman said Burhan Wani is yet another golden page of the history of the ongoing freedom movement who will always be remembered as the pride and honour of Kashmir as he successfully represented the sentiments of the youth of Kashmir.

He denounced the Indian Home Minister, Rajnath Singh’s recent statement about Kashmir and said that Kashmir is neither an issue of development nor administration. He said that Kashmir dispute pertained to the future of millions of Kashmiris and it could only be resolved by giving them their inalienable right to self-determination.
