Current Balochistan Administration Rejects Predecessor’s Retirement Perks Directive

The Balochistan provincial government has unequivocally distanced itself from a notification issued during the previous administration’s tenure, which granted additional perks and privileges to retired Chief Secretaries, stating its fundamental disagreement with the directive.

Advisor to Chief Minister Balochistan, Shahid Rind, clarified on Monday that the appeal against the Balochistan High Court”s decision related to these benefits was also lodged by the former government. He stressed that the incumbent administration had neither defended the controversial notification nor supported any appeal in its favour at any point.

Mr. Rind asserted the provincial government’s clear stance: “Every single penny of public resources is a trust of the people and should only be spent on public welfare.” He highlighted that a fixed financial chart governs benefits within federal civil services, with a regular schedule for entitlements already established in Balochistan.

Consequently, the current provincial government does not endorse the aforementioned order or the provision of additional post-retirement entitlements.
