Cyclists Rally to Address Education Crisis Affecting Millions of Children

In response to the ongoing challenge of millions of out-of-school children in Pakistan, more than 400 cyclists took to the streets of Karachi on Sunday for the 5th annual ‘Cycle for Change’ initiative, a fundraising and awareness event organised by The Citizens Foundation (TCF).

Participants commenced their journey from multiple locations across the city, culminating their ride at the TCF Qayyumabad Campus. The event was held to advocate for improved access to quality education for the nation”s less-privileged youth.

The initiative was spearheaded by Mrs. Dawoodi and Mrs. Rubina Kamal from Supporters of The Citizens Foundation (STCF). Various cycling clubs from the city, including Critical Mass Karachi (CMK) led by CEO Mazhar Valjee, took part in the assembly.

For almost 30 years, TCF has been involved in providing educational services to children in underserved communities. The foundation reports that it currently educates 320,000 students in 2,261 school units nationwide.

TCF stated its intention to continue ‘Cycle for Change’ as an annual gathering, aiming to bring supporters together to further its mission of providing education to underprivileged children.
