Islamabad, November 28, 2019 (PPI-OT): Muhammad Usman Dar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs held a meeting with stakeholders on Kamyaab Jawan Programme’s component Start-up Pakistan before its launch; starting from federal capital in the first week of December, this year. Representatives from more than twenty leading universities of the country attended the meeting. About twenty members from various incubation centres and industries, coordinated through Pakistan Incubation Centre (PIN) also attended the session. Mr. Dar while thanking the participants of the meeting from across the country said that purpose of sitting together was aimed at brainstorming and sharing ideas regarding success of Prime Minister’s Kamyaab Jawan Programme.
He added that the Government wants to facilitate and assist entrepreneurs for successful establishment and running of their businesses. “We need to work together so that we don’t start everything from the scratch. We rather want to assist various stages of entrepreneurships at their attained levels”, said Mr. Dar. Participants of the meeting suggested that the word entrepreneur needs to be branded and made a buzz word for greater motivation among the youth and encourage them for taking up their business ventures. They further suggested that HEC’s sponsored researches must be local industry based to help local industry.
The participants appreciated SAPM for sitting together so that stake holders before launch of Start-up Pakistan. Soft launch of Start-up Pakistan will take place on 2nd of December at Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. SAPM will be the chief guest at the launch. The soft launch of Start-up Pakistan will be held in eight cities of the country starting from Islamabad followed by Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Quetta and Peshawar.
Formal launch of the programme is expected in the second month of next year i.e. 2020. The will be a milestone in building the country’s entrepreneurship echo system innovation. Later in the evening, Mr. Dar telephoned Ms. Androulla Kamynara, EU ambassador in Pakistan. Mr. Dar discussed EU’s scholarships for foreign students Erasmus + and asked for assistance to facilitate sending more number of Pakistani youth on these scholarships. It was agreed that meeting in this regard will be held in the coming week to explore various aspects of facilitation in this regard.
