TOBA-TEK-SINGH: On the direction of the Punjab government on Friday, the district administration is ensuring the supply of fertilizers to the farmers at government rates.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Adnan Irshad Cheema visited different fertilizer sale points of the city. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the supply and demanded of fertilizer. He further inquired about the rates from the farmers working there.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner said, “Distribution of fertilizer should be ensured at the official rates. If any dealer charges excessive price of fertilizer, immediate action should be taken against him.”
The Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the officers of the Agriculture Department, ordering them to stay in the field and levy heavy fine with FIR against mafia selling fertilizer on black.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the petrol pumps and took action against petrol pump owners who did not give petrol despite having stock. “Zero tolerance policy is being implemented in the district against artificial shortage and overcharging,” he added.
