Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar attended the live screening of the international football final at Best Western Premier Hotel Islamabad as the chief guest. The event was organized by Muhammad Rauf Raja, Focal Person to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme on Tourism and Hospitality, in collaboration with Best Western Premier Hotel Islamabad.
According to information by the Senate office today, the event was attended by Muhammad Rauf Raja, General Manager Best Western Premier Hotel Rashid Rauf Banday, Vice President FPCCI Tariq Jadoon, a delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries, former international football player Mubashir Sanjrani, the Ambassador of Palestine, diplomats from various embassies, members of the business community, and young leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Nasar said that sports are a powerful instrument for promoting national unity, discipline, healthy lifestyles, and constructive engagement among youth. He emphasized the need that Pakistan’s young generation should possess immense sporting talent that must be nurtured through better facilities, coaching, and equal opportunities.
The deputy chairman Senate particularly highlighted the immense football talent found in Balochistan, stating that the province had consistently produced naturally gifted footballers who had represented Pakistan with distinction despite limited resources. He stressed that with adequate investment in sports infrastructure, training academies, and grassroots competitions, Balochistan could emerge as a major hub for football development in the country.
Nasar said that encouraging sporting activities not only helps discover future champions but also keeps young people positively engaged and contributes to national development. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers for bringing together diplomats, the business community, and youth through the universal language of football, adding that such initiatives strengthen people-to-people connections and promote goodwill.
He reaffirmed the Parliament’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower youth through sports, education, and constructive community engagement.
Nasar appreciated the organizers and expressed hope that similar events would continue to inspire Pakistan’s youth and foster a vibrant sporting culture across the country.
