Karachi, November 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):DHL Logistics Chief Executive Officer-South Asia, Niki Frank, along with DHL Global Forwarding Managing Director-Pakistan, M. Umair Alam, visited the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industries (OICCI) on November 2, 2021, to understand the chamber’s outlook on the current business environment in Pakistan. The guests were welcomed by Kashif Shafi, Executive Director, OICCI.
Joining via video call, the Secretary General OICCI, M. Abdul Aleem shared a detailed presentation with the guests, giving a brief history of OICCI, economic contributions of the members, brief research profile of the chamber along with services offered to members, and an overview of the investment landscape of the country, role of the chamber in facilitating FDI including key challenges and opportunities for foreign investors. He also shared latest results of the OICCI surveys that gauged the perception of the business and security environment of the country. M. Abdul Aleem also clarified and explained questions of the guests during the presentation.
Niki Frank commended the Chamber’s efforts to undertake research and presenting business optimism data backed by the survey numbers on the ground. He also appreciated the improving law and order situation, which hurdle foreign investors while making investment decisions, and shared his satisfaction with M. Abdul Aleem that, on the ground, situation in Pakistan is better than its portrayed perception, and efforts should be done to convey the improved perception.
In conclusion, Niki Frank and M. Umair Alam thanked M. Abdul Aleem for the presentation and the responses to the queries for better understanding of the chamber’s viewpoint on current business environment of Pakistan.
