Digitalization, Settlement of Land Record in Newly Merged Districts should be completed soon: CM’s aide

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Revenue and State Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand has issued instructions that the process of Digitalization and Settlement of Land Record in the Newly Merged Districts should be completed as soon as possible and no damage should be done to the property of any individual.

He said this important project should be avoided from further delay and all stakeholders including political stakeholders should be worked together to avoid any untoward incidents. These views were expressed by the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Revenue and State, Taj Mohammad Khan Tarand, while talking to the officials of the Revenue Department on the occasion of his visit to the office of the Director of Land Records on Wednesday.

Director Revenue Ijaz-Ur-Rehman, Project Director Capt (r) Muhammad Bilal and other senior officials were present on this occasion. On the occasion of the visit, a detailed briefing was given to the Special Assistant for Revenue and State about the project of Settlement and Digitization of Land Record in Merger Districts.

In the briefing, it was informed that all the Newly Merged Districts have been divided into seven sub-divisions i.e. Hasan Khel, Landi Kotal, Bajaur, Wazir Bannu, Upper Karam, Lower Karam and Dara Adam Khel and their land records have been updated using modern technology GIS.

This is the first ever project of its kind to be launched in Pakistan for the settlement and digitization of land records. Taj Muhammad Tarand said that due to this project we overcome most of the problems of land records and the records will be computerized and saved at once with merit and transparency.

While its maps can also be issued from the computer. This will completely eliminate measurement errors, illegal encroachments and other such practices in the land record system. The Special Assistant on Revenue and State said the vacant posts in the project should be filled immediately and the shortage of staff in all sub-divisions should be filled so that the work on the project can be maintained continuously.

He also added that with the completion of this project, all land record issues of the merged districts will be solved with a single click at home. Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand said that it’s the top priority of the provincial government to provide a better and sustainable environment to the people of the merged districts in all aspects. In this regard, many mega projects have also been started, which is a testimony of the provincial government to take the people of these districts on the path of development.
