DIGP, Traffic Javed Ali Mehar takes serious note on issues of traffic jams highlighted by President SITE Association of Industry

Karachi, January 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): DIGP (Traffic) Mr. Javed Ali Mehar has taken serious note on the issues of traffic jams highlighted by Mr. Saleem Parekh, President SITE Association of Industry. He assured that immediately anti-encroachment campaign would start with the help of DC-West at Shershah, Gulbai and removal of all truck, bus and rickshaw stands.

DIGP agreed with the views and suggestions of SITE Association of Industry and immediately instructed to provide lifter at Afza Flyover from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for removal of faulty vehicles; issuance of challans to wrong side violators; and clearing all 10 traffic congestion points in SITE Area.

He also agreed to take up the matter of widening of Orangi Nala Bridge; Placement of height barrier, cat-eyes/studs at ICI Bridge to Jinnah Flyover; replacement of Loose Expansion Joints at Lyari Express Way and allowing 6-Wheeler to ply in SITE Area except from 5-8 p.m.

On the occasion Mr. Saleem Parekh appreciated traffic police working in the area, however he highlighted that there is always room for improvement. He added that behaviour of traffic police in dealing with people has improved immensely. Saleem Parekh was of the view that in order to save time and fuel due to traffic jam serious actions need to be taken on top priority basis.
