Directorate General of Trade Organization extends deadline for renewal of HPSAP license

Karachi, May 22, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Chief spokesman of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has taken a strong note and strongly condemned the baseless news that appeared in a section of print media today about the cancellation of the license of Halal Products and Services Association of Pakistan (HPSAP) by the Directorate General of Trade Organization (DGTO) as it has casted doubts on the legality of the present position of its Senior Vice President, Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir.

Terming the news as concocted and fact distorting the FPCCI Chief Spokesman clarified that the license of HPSAP was never cancelled and the delay made by the Association in submission of the documents in the DGTO Office for renewal of its license has already been condoned by the Secretary Commerce on May 11, 2018.

This is also evident from the fact that the name of HPSAP is not included in the list of Associations, whose licenses have been cancelled by the DGTO, being appeared on its website, he added. The FPCCI Chief Spokesman also urged the press to verify authenticity of the news from its sources before getting it printed to avoid speculation and rumour.
