Dow University wins top medical university of Pakistan

KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences has joined the international race of university rankings and has also won the honor of the top medical university of Pakistan.

Every year, the “Times Higher Education World University Rankings”, a global ranking organization of international universities, has included Dow University in the ranking of 601-800. In the ranking of 601-800, Dow University has achieved this honor among 1799 institutions from different regions of the world. The University’s performance has drastically increased under the dynamic leadership of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy (TI).

Under his leadership and initiatives, the Dow University of Health Sciences has made consistent efforts in quality research, clinical services, scholarship, and community service inline with the mission, which is Providing outstanding patient-centered evidence-based education, training and clinical care informed by cutting-edge research and innovation, generating and disseminating new knowledge. This achievement is a team effort, which includes the university faculty members and staff.

“1st Pakistani Medical University “Dow University of Health Sciences” has been acknowledged and ranked by the Times Higher Education World University Ranking for the year 2023. The number of internationalized Pakistani universities shows that Dow University persistently benchmarks with the best universities in the world and is in process of continuous improvement of its programs, facilities and services to produce the best graduates that are globally competitive and industry-matched.

According to the TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION, DUHS has the Highest Ranked pillar of ‘428’ in Research Citations and also nationally ranked in Pakistan as ‘4th’. DUHS entered the THE 601-800 range, which is the highest ranking ever received by any Pakistani Medical University as of this year, and the same is acknowledged by the THE World University rankings (WUR).

The 2023 THE WUR is considered as the most diverse and largest ranking published by THE, with 1,799 universities across 104 countries and regions participating. Nationally, 29 universities were included by THE in the rankings, out of which DUHS placed 4th nationally.

THE DUHS is also included as one of the region’s research intensive institutions, according to QS Asia University Rankings 2022. The insights and data curated from these lists have been adopted as a geo-political indicator, as well as an aid to strategic management of institutions and a crucial factor in the study choices made by millions of students around the world and their employment prospects. The THE acknowledged that the University has a 3% international student population and a 6.8% students’ per staff/faculty ratio.

In encouraging to pursue a programmatic and holistic approach as per their Master Strategic Plan (2019-2030) ‘ A Bridge of Excellence”, DUHS has been ranked by the QS Asia University ranking in 2022 with the status of ‘Young’ Age, medium sized, high intensity Research University of Asia.
