Dry weather expected across the country, wind and thunderstorm likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir

The weather is likely to remain dry in most parts of the country.

However, wind and thunderstorm have been predicted at a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas.

In contrast, the rest of the country is expected to remain largely dry.

The meteorological office also released morning temperature readings from major urban centres. Islamabad and Muzaffarabad both registered twelve degrees centigrade, while Lahore recorded twenty and the coastal city of Karachi was warmer at twenty-four degrees.

Other major city temperatures included Peshawar at fifteen degrees, Quetta at eleven, Gilgit at thirteen, and the hill station of Murree at a chilly four degrees centigrade.

The weather forecast also extended to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where partly cloudy skies are anticipated, carrying the chance of rain-wind and thunderstorms in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula.

Morning temperatures in the region saw Leh at a frigid minus-two degrees centigrade. Srinagar recorded five degrees, while Pulwama, Anantnag, and Baramula were at four degrees. Shopian registered three degrees, and Jammu was milder at fifteen degrees centigrade.
