Islamabad, March 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has decided and directed Petroleum Division to supply indigenous gas to Urea fertilizer plants till 31st May this year to meet the Urea requirement in the country for this year’s Kharif season. The decision to this effect was taken at the ECC meeting presided over by the Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the ECC considered and deliberated on the summary submitted by Ministry of Industries and Production on Urea Fertilizer requirement for Kharif 2023. The Ministry also presented details on the demand, production and domestic production gap of urea fertilizer in the country for Kharif 2023 season.
