King Edward Medical University (KEMU) and Government College University (GCU) Lahore distinguished themselves with major victories at the 33rd All Pakistan Debating Competition, hosted by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) from January 31st to February 2nd.
According to a report today, the three-day national event brought together prominent student orators from a host of prestigious institutions, including Forman Christian College University (FCCU), Punjab University (PU), and the University of Lahore (UOL), for intensely competitive rounds of Parliamentary Debates and Declamation Speeches.
In the Parliamentary Debates, KEMU demonstrated formidable prowess by winning both the English and Urdu Open categories. Punjab University claimed the title in the Urdu Novice category, while Roots IVY was victorious in the English Novice division.
GCU Lahore dominated the Declamation Competition, securing the overall Team Trophy. The university’s Aimen Fatima was also individually recognised, earning the title of Overall Best Speaker for her outstanding performance.
The championship concluded with a formal Award Ceremony, honouring the achievements of the participants and the contributions of the judges. Additionally, the UET Debating Society organised an Alumni Reunion and Dinner, fostering connections between current debaters and past participants from the national circuit.
