A student organisation said today that it is set to organise a major three-day book fair at the University of Karachi, intending to promote a reading culture by offering a vast collection of publications at discounted prices. The event, organised by Islami Jamiat Talaba, will run from February 2 to 4.
Touted as the university’s largest and most distinctive event of its kind, the book fair will feature hundreds of stalls operated by renowned publishers and booksellers from across the region.
The primary objective of the fair is to encourage reading habits among the student population and ensure that quality literature is financially accessible to the widest possible audience.
A diverse selection of materials will be available for purchase, encompassing religious, academic, historical, scientific, and literary genres, in addition to course-related texts.
According to a statement from the organisers, the gathering is anticipated to serve as a significant centre for academic and intellectual activities, attracting students from educational institutions throughout the city.
