Pakistan has joined seven other Muslim nations in a forceful condemnation of Israel”s repeated ceasefire violations in Gaza, which have reportedly resulted in the killing and injury of more than a thousand Palestinians.

According to a statement today, the denunciation was articulated in a joint statement issued on Sunday by the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the United Arab Emirates.

The ministers stated that Israel”s actions risk heightening regional tensions and jeopardise efforts to consolidate calm and restore stability.

They consider these repeated violations a direct threat to the political process, hindering the advancement of the second phase of US President Donald Trump”s peace plan and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

The joint statement emphasised the necessity of a full commitment to ensuring the success of the peace initiative”s second phase.

The foreign ministers called on all parties to fully uphold their responsibilities during this critical period and exercise utmost restraint to preserve the ceasefire.

They urged participants to refrain from any actions that may undermine the current process and to create favourable conditions to move forward toward early recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

The statement concluded by calling for progress towards a just and lasting peace, founded upon the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab peace initiative.
