Eradication of corruption and lawful action top most priority of NAB: Chairman NAB

Islamabad, May 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Honourable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal Thursday said that elimination of corruption and lawful action against corrupt elements is top most priority of NAB. Corruption is major hurdle in the development and progress of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. NAB’s Solemn belief is on corruption free Pakistan.

Addressing a NAB recovered looted amount returning ceremony to Mudarba Scandal victims in Regional office of NAB in Peshawar as chief guest, he said the darkness of corruption would end with joint efforts. The returning of the looted money to the victims in seven cases was a laudable step besides self explanatory of NAB’s indiscriminate performance. DG NAB Peshawar Farmanullah Khan was alsopresent. He said NAB has deposited Rs. 290 billion in national exchequer since its inception. The amount has been recovered from the. corrupt. Out of total recovered amount NAB KP has recovered Rs. 14 billion.

Chairman said that NAB has no concerns with impending general elections. NAB would continue to perform its national duty before and after the elections as NAB has only affiliations with the country.The main aim of NAB’s every step is to implement law and eliminating the menace of corruption from the country.

He said country has to pay back $84 billion. It is essential to know where such a huge amount was spent. He assured utilizing all resources in recovering the looted amount by Mudarba, Musharka and Hajj and fake housing societies. He urged the people to invest their hard earned money in various housing societies and others business. He lauded the performance of KP NAB headed by Farmanullah Khan and hoped that NAB officials will perform their duties with honesty, dedication and in accordance with the law.
