Federal Minister for Science and Technology leading Pakistan’s delegation at Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology

Islamabad, November 29, 2018 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Science and Technology Muhammad Azam Khan Swati is leading Pakistan’s delegation at the first ever Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna from 28-30 November, 2018.

Speaking at the Conference, the Federal Minister highlighted Pakistan’s achievements in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy in fields such as power generation, health, industry and agriculture. He appreciated the IAEA’s contribution in promoting the peaceful uses of nuclear technology which can help in achieving sustainable development and mitigating climate change. He said that with more than four decades of experience in utilizing nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes, Pakistan stood ready to share its expertise with other developing countries through the IAEA’s platform.

Muhammad Naeem, Chairman Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, and Ambassador of Pakistan in Vienna Mansoor Ahmed Khan are also attending the Conference. Pakistan is one of the founding members of the IAEA and has been regularly serving on its Board of Governors.
