LARKANA: Assistant director, Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC), accompanied by Ahmed Ali Soomro, assistant commissioner, Larkana, conducted raids at quack clinics on Monday in various localities of the city including Jail Road, Murad Wahan, Yar Muhammad Colony, Areeja Phero Road and other areas and sealed off five quack clinics and arrested two quacks.

Soomro told newsmen that there were so many complaints against quacks operating in the city freely without fear of law and without proper documents, hence, a team of SHCC conducted surprise raids in various parts of the city and sealed off five such clinics and arrested two of them.

He said it was for SHCC to register FIRs against them. He said those clinics were the main sources of spreading deadly viral diseases such as HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis as they used substandard drugs and reuse disposable syringes which infected the people. He said that the medical waste was kept open and not disposed of properly for days while their drugs were substandard.

He said quack dentists were also using unsterilized material which too was causing viral diseases and was very dangerous for the health of the people. He said such raids would continue across the district and warned the quacks to stop deadly business for the sake of earning money or else they would be brought to justice.
