Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, is scheduled to be the Chief Guest at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore’s Annual Alumni Reunion on January 3, 2026, an event expected to draw a significant number of former students from around the globe.
According to the university information on Monday, the gathering will see graduates from numerous countries, including Canada, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and the United Kingdom, converge at their alma mater. Attendees from across Pakistan are also anticipated to participate, visiting their former academic departments to relive cherished memories.
A key part of the ceremony will involve honouring graduates who have provided outstanding services to the university. Special shields will be presented to alumni who have made notable contributions, including through donations, to the institution.
The university”s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, who will preside over the event, recently chaired a meeting with the organising committees to finalise arrangements. The session was attended by the Deans of all faculties and various Heads of Departments.
During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor underscored the reunion”s importance as a crucial platform for reinforcing the bond between the institution and its alumni. He instructed all committees to work in close coordination to ensure the proceedings are conducted in an effective and dignified manner.
