Lahore, 2-Feb-2026 (PPI): Former national team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as the mentor and team manager for the Pakistan Shaheens, as the Pakistan Cricket Board unveiled a 16-member squad to face the England Lions in an upcoming white-ball series in Abu Dhabi.
The tour comprises a three-match T20 contest, starting on 20 February, and a subsequent five-match 50-over series scheduled from 27 February to 9 March. All fixtures are slated to be held at the Stadium Oval in Abu Dhabi.
Prior to their departure for the United Arab Emirates, the selected players will participate in a seven-day training camp in Karachi from 11 to 17 February.
Left-handed batter Shamyl Hussain has been named captain for both formats. The batting contingent also includes Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz, Saad Khan, and Maaz Sadaqat, who was recognised as the player of the tournament in the ACC Men"s Asia Cup Rising Stars.
A notable inclusion in the team is the sibling duo of Sameer and Arafat Minhas. Pakistan U19 batter Sameer Minhas earns his first call-up, joining his brother Arafat, following their respective strong performances in the ICC U19 World Cup and the ACC Men"s Asia Cup Rising Stars.
The wicket-keeping responsibilities will be shared by Rohail Nazir and Saad Baig. The spin department is composed of Arafat Minhas, leg-spinner Saad Masood, and left-arm wrist spinner Sufyan Moqim.
The pace attack features Pakistan U19 fast bowler Ali Raza alongside Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Mohammad Salman, and Shahid Aziz.
The coaching staff will be led by former Test player Ijaz Ahmed Jnr as head coach. He will be supported by former Pakistan international Mansoor Amjad as the fielding coach and former Test pacer Aizaz Cheema as the bowling coach.
