Islamabad: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), in partnership with Ipsos, has launched Pakistan's inaugural indigenous survey, the Index of Transparency and Accountability in Pakistan (iTAP). The survey was introduced at a ceremony at FPCCI Capital House, attended by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, among others.
According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the iTAP initiative, conceived in May 2025, aims to establish a recurring benchmark for transparency and accountability within the country. Conducted between December 25 and January 26, the survey offers a contemporary and representative assessment of public trust in government and institutions. The findings indicate that while negative perceptions exist, most citizen interactions with public institutions are reportedly free of corruption.
During the ceremony, the Federal Minister emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability for good governance and national development. He noted the discrepancy between public perceptions and actual experiences, underscoring the need to address this gap as a priority. The Minister also commended institutions that have improved service delivery and stressed the potential of iTAP as a tool for monitoring and reform.
