The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the completion of the Gaddafi Stadium renovation, marking a significant milestone achieved in just 117 days. This renovation sets the stage for an exciting opening ceremony on 7 February, prior to the much-anticipated Pakistan versus New Zealand match on 8 February and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 commencing on 19 February.
According to a statement by PCB today, the opening ceremony will feature a series of vibrant events, including live performances by renowned singers Ali Zafar, Arif Lohar, and Aima Baig. The ceremony will be highlighted by a captivating fireworks display and a unique light show. Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is expected to attend the event, which will be open to the public from 5.30 pm, aiming to create an unforgettable experience for cricket enthusiasts.
The Gaddafi Stadium has undergone a significant transformation under the leadership of PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi. The revamped stadium now boasts brighter LED lights, two larger score screens, and improved seating arrangements to enhance the viewing experience for fans.
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been actively involved in the renovation process, making frequent visits to oversee the progress. His commitment has led to the development of world-class facilities, including newly constructed hospitality boxes and upgraded amenities for both players and spectators.
