Germany’s New Consul General Meets Mayor Karachi, Discusses Medical and Cultural Ties

Discussions on potential cooperation for medical professionals and the enhancement of cultural exchange programs were central to a meeting between Germany’s new Consul General, Thomas S. Schultz, and Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab. These high-level talks took place during the diplomat’s official visit to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

Mayor Wahab formally welcomed the new envoy to the city’s central administrative body. During their conversation, the Mayor provided the Consul General with a comprehensive briefing on the city’s affairs and the functions of the KMC.

The Mayor highlighted the long-standing and friendly relations between Pakistan and Germany, specifically mentioning the strong and solid trade links between the two countries.

In a significant move to strengthen municipal ties, Consul General Schultz extended a formal invitation to Mayor Wahab to visit the city of Hamburg. This invitation indicates a path for future city-to-city cooperation.
