Extensive renovations and new equipment worth Rs. 32 crore, funded by Mari Petroleum, were unveiled at the Ghotki Taluka Hospital. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chairman District Council Ghotki, Bungal Khan Mahar, Chairman Petroleum Social Development Committee, Abdul Bari Khan Patafi, and other officials, marking a significant step towards improved access to healthcare facilities in the region.
Chairman Mahar reiterated the commitment of Provincial Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar and Mari Petroleum to enhance medical services throughout the district. He pledged to continue efforts to equip all district hospitals with necessary resources.
Chairman of the Petroleum Social Development Committee, Patafi, emphasized the swift execution and quality assurance of the project. He stressed that funds generated from Mari Petroleum’s production bonus are dedicated to public welfare and should be utilized effectively. He also mentioned the development of a modern library and resource center in Mirpur Mathelo, in line with the vision of the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali, elaborating on the upgrades, stated that they included a new ICU and ventilator facilities, renovation of various wards (male, female, gynecology, cardiology), a trauma center, operating rooms, and a kidney block. Modern equipment such as digital X-ray, ECG machines, and air conditioners were also installed, along with improvements to the drainage system. He highlighted the high patient influx at the Taluka Hospital, emphasizing the critical need for these improvements.
