A violent encounter occurred near a petrol station close to Green Park City on National Highway today, resulting in the death of a suspect and injury to two police officers. The incident took place when law enforcement officers intervened with the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
Police Constable Ghulam Abbas, aged 40, and Constable Zubair, aged 38, were injured in this clash. Unfortunately, one suspect was killed, while an accomplice managed to escape from the scene. Authorities recovered a pistol, ammunition, mobile phones, and a Corolla Altis car from the scene. The injured officers and the deceased suspect were transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for treatment and post-mortem. The case investigation is actively ongoing under Shah Latif Police Station, District Malir.
In a separate incident in North Karachi Sector 2, a 10-year-old boy named Hussain became an unintended victim of a stray bullet near the Thursday Bazaar. The child was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical assistance. Police from the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Station are conducting further investigations to understand the circumstances of the incident.
