Gilani concerned over escalation on LOC

Srinagar, January 20, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has expressed concern over escalation in the tension between Pakistan and India on the Line of Control (LoC). Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said unless Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people, the risk of collision between the two nuclear powers will remain, which will be devastating for the whole world.

He said to India was continuing to keep the LoC hot to mislead its own people and international community and to hush up the gross human rights violations by the Indian armed forces in occupied Kashmir in the thunders of guns.

Syed Ali Gilani said, “Our freedom struggle is indigenous and people of Kashmir are striving for their fundamental right legalized by not only the world body but India as well.” He said India with its arrogance of power has subjected the whole population to the worst kind of brutalities to create a graveyard silence.

Referring to the threatening statement of Indian home minister, wherein he said that India will teach Pakistan a lesson, the APHC Chairman said it is arrogance of power and appealed to India and Pakistan to demonstrate wisdom and take steps towards peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.

He said war is neither an option nor a solution to issues, adding that the Kashmir dispute had multiplied human tragedies and it was because of the lingering dispute that millions of people were facing immense hardship and a state of uncertainty and instability was looming over the whole south Asian region. He also condemned the arrest of the resistance leaders, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.
