Gilani condemns killing of mentally-challenged man in IOK

Srinagar, February 20, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has strongly condemned the killing of a mentally-challenged man, Syed Habibullah of Soibugh in Badgam district. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, describing it a cold-blooded murder, said forces, laced with unbridled powers and impunity under the cover of black laws, are trigger-happy and kill Kashmiris whenever and wherever they wish to, as has been witnessed in the last seven decades.

Strongly condemning the killing of a civilian, he stressed for stringent action against killers and demanded probe into the killing by impartial agencies. Extending his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family members of slain Syed Habibullah, he said, “We stand with them and prayed for eternal peace to departed soul.”

“Since there is no accountability, thousands of Kashmiris have been killed in cold-blood and merciless manner and not even a single soldier or policeman involved has ever been brought to book or tried by law,” Gilani said. He deplored that killing a Kashmiri had become an ordinary thing for the trigger-happy killers because they had no accountability or the fear of facing justice. They are enjoying immunity and carrying massacre of innocents under well thought out plan, added Gilani.
