Srinagar, February 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, resistance leaders and organizations including the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani have paid glowing tributes to a youth, Hilal Ahmed Rathar who was martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation at Ratnipora in Pulwama district.
Syed Ali Gilani while paying rich tributes to the youth in a statement in Srinagar said, “Our youth are sacrificing their precious lives, every day, for the sacred cause making all of us duty-bound to safeguard these sacrifices with utmost commitment and dedication to pursue this cause.”
He said, “India is suffering from arrogance of power and has tried its best to muzzle our voice but has utterly failed to do so. New Delhi’s military might and its brutality can never deter us from our much cherished goal of right to self-determination.” He said, “The situation in the Valley is worsening with each passing day and authorities are just relying on their military might to suppress people’s aspirations.”
“The stubborn attitude of India regarding this globally-accepted political dispute and dealing with it militarily has created death and destruction in the whole territory and regional peace and harmony is at risk. With the resolution of Kashmir dispute, a new era of peace, stability and development will usher not only in Kashmir but in the entire South Asia,” Gilani added.
Syed Ali Gilani also expressed condolence over the demise of Grand Mufti of Kashmir, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din. He said that deceased was a learned Islamic scholar and a noble and pious man. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai expressed pain and grief and prayed for the forbearance and patience of the bereaved family of the martyred youth. “The great sacrifices shall accrue results. Continued atrocities by Indian forces can never suppress just political struggle for their legitimate right to self-determination,” he said.
The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar while paying tributes to the martyr said, “The educated youth of Kashmir are being pushed to wall leaving them with no choice but to pick up arms.” The forum urged the world community to take stock of the prevailing situation in Kashmir and said, “Entire Kashmir has been turned into a military fortress where killing of young and educated boys are taking place on daily basis while youth are harassed and leadership is detained in jails or in their homes.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in its statement said, “The supreme sacrifices being offered by our youth will not go waste.” The JKML General Secretary Muhammad Rafiq Ganai participated in the funeral prayers of the martyred youth. Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Muhammad Iqbal Mir and Ummat-e-Islami in their statements also paid tributes to Hilal and other martyrs.
