Glowing tributes paid to martyred youth in IOK

Srinagar, May 17, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to the youth martyred by Indian troops in Pulwama, Shopian and Baramulla districts.

The troops martyred three youth, Naseer Pandit, Umar Mir and Khalid Ahmed, and destroyed a residential house during a cordon and search operation in Dalipora area of Pulwama district, yesterday. Another youth identified as Rayees Ahmed Dar was martyred and his brother, Younis Ahmed Dar, was injured in the firing of the troops. Three more youth were martyred by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Handew area of Shopian district. A 23-year-old youth, Arshad Ahmed Dar, who was injured in Indian forces’ violent action on 13th May at Chanabal in Pattan area of Baramulla district, succumbed to his injuries at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar, today.

APHC leader and the Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja, visited the house of martyred Naseer Pandit at Kareemabad in Pulwama and expressed solidarity with his family. Speaking on the occasion, she said by killing and maiming Kashmiri youth on daily basis, Indian government cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ political aspirations for which they have been struggling for last 71 years.

A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League led by its General Secretary, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, also visited Kareemabad and participated in the funeral prayers of Naseer Pandit. Addressing mourners on the occasion, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai said, “Our brave youth are sacrificing their prime youth for the Kashmir cause.” He said that the Kashmiri youth were leaving their homes, relatives and shining careers and offering supreme sacrifices of their lives for the freedom of their homeland from the Indian occupation.

He said India is suffering from the arrogance of power and has tried its best to muzzle the Kashmiris’ voice but has utterly failed in its nefarious designs. He appealed to the international human rights organizations to play role in the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
