Government making serious efforts for providing clean and green atmosphere to the future generation: Provincial Minister for Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries

Lahore, April 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Muhammad Sabtain Khan has said that according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, government are making serious efforts for providing clean and green atmosphere to the future generation. He said that trees are being planted on the land retrieved from land grabbers beside Plant for Pakistan and Spring Tree Plantation Campaign. Target of plantation of 50 crore trees have been fixed to Punjab in Prime Minister Programme for Ten Billion Trees.

He expressed these views while addressing as a chief guest at a function of plantation held under Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign arranged by a private university. The Minister inaugurated the function by planted a sapling in Lahore Sabzazar Ladies Park. An awareness walk was also arranged which was led by the Provincial Minister. Teachers as well as a large number of students also attended the function and took part in plantation programme. Almost one thousand saplings were planted in ladies park and nearby parks by the university.

Addressing the function, the Minister congratulated the teachers and students of the university. Practical measures are being taken by the present government instead of lip service. Steps are being taken on emergent basis regarding theft of trees. The minister appealed to the students to help the government and every student plants at least one tree. A complaint cell is also being set up in which complaints will be lodged regarding theft of trees across the province. Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Miss Rukhsana Naveed, Chairman PHA Sye Yasir Gilani were also present on the occasion.
