Governor KP lauds performance of Hazara University

PESHAWAR: Appreciating the overall performance of Hazara University Mansehra, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman has praised the university for maintaining financial discipline.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman said while presiding over the Senate meeting of Hazara University Mansehra at Governor House on Thursday. He said that the financial and academic performance of Hazara University under the best financial strategy is commendable, preparation of budget according to priorities and needs and appropriate expenditure can save the universities from financial problems, he said. Wanting to look administratively stable and keeping in view the above fact, all the universities were instructed to prepare their budget for the financial year 2021-22 and present it in the relevant forum senate session in June, the, Governor added.

He directed the higher education department to formulate a comprehensive plan for the appointment of persons with academic qualifications and experience in the respective fields to the posts of registrar, controller of examinations, provost and treasurer in all the universities. He also directed to use the savings in the pension fund and endowment fund to rectify the issues so that the growing pension graph in the universities could be easily dealt with.

Vice Chancellor Hazara University D Jamil Ahmed in the Senate session, apprised the meeting about the financial strategy to increase the university reserve to Rs. 4 billion in the next three years. The meeting was informed that efforts are being made to create funds for the development of the university on long term basis. A budget of Rs. 1335 million for 2021-22 was also presented which was formally approved.

Besides, a meeting of Kohat University of Science and Technology Senate was also held at the Governor House to discuss the budget priorities of the said university for the financial year 2021-22. And after reviewing the technical aspects, the budget of Kohat University of Science and Technology for the financial year 2021-22 was formally approved.

The member provincial assembly from Mansehra Nawabzada Farid Salahuddin, Principal Secretary to Governor Muhammad Idrees, Secretary Higher Education Department Muhammad Daud Khan, Additional Secretary Finance Department Ambassador Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Hazara University Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed, excluding Vice Chancellor Kohat University of Science and Technology Prof Dr Sardar Khan other concerned senate members also participated.
