The Meteorological Department Quetta Regional Centre today issued a forecast predicting the arrival of dust-blowing gusty winds in several districts of Balochistan over the next 48 hours, coupled with persistently cold and dry conditions across the province.

According to the two-day outlook, the districts of Chagai, Washuk, Kharan, and Panjgur are expected to experience these blustery conditions, while most other areas will continue to face cold and arid weather.

For the immediate 24-hour period, a forecast of mainly cold and dry weather prevails for the majority of the province. However, authorities anticipate very cold temperatures, particularly in the northern parts of Balochistan, during the night and morning hours.

A review of the preceding 24 hours revealed minimal precipitation, with Barkhan receiving 4.0 mm and Khuzdar recording 1.7 mm of rainfall. Trace amounts were also noted in the Samungli and Brewery areas of Quetta.

Temperature recordings from the past day highlighted the chilly conditions, with Kalat registering the province”s lowest temperature at 1.0°C. In the provincial capital, minimum temperatures ranged from 1.5°C in the City and Sariab areas to 2.7°C at the Brewery.

Other notable low temperatures included 2.5°C in Zhob and 5.5°C in Khuzdar. In contrast, coastal regions experienced milder weather, with Lasbella and Uthal recording the highest temperature at 29.0°C. Temperature data for Dalbandin and Nokkundi was not reported.
