Haq Do Tehreek urges govt to accept charter of demands

QUETTA: “Haq Do Tehreek, Quetta” has demanded of the authorities to accede to the 31 points charter of demand of HDT immediately otherwise protest sit-in would be observed on main chowks of the provincial capital besides staging a protest camp outside Quetta Press Club.

This demand was made in the protest demonstration held outside Quetta Press Club under the aegis of “Haq Do Tehreek, Quetta” here on Friday. Addressing the protest demonstration, speakers said that residents of Quetta city had been engulfed in several basic problems, including low gas pressure, power outages and actuate dearth of pure drinking water, but authorities of federal as well as provincial governments were paying no heed to get the problems of the residents of Quetta city addressed.

They said that the recent rain and flood wreaked havoc in severs areas of the provincial capital, including Pushtunabad, Eastern and Western Bypasses, Sariab Road, Nawa Killi, but Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) did not provide any kind of relief to the rain and flood affected families of Quetta. They said that the authorities of PDMA distributed relief goods purely on political grounds.

Demanding the authorities to conduct inquiry into the distribution of relief goods amongst affectees in the wake of floods, they called on authorities to ensure distribution of relief goods amongst rain and flood affected families of Quetta. They said it was not known as why the key position of the Governor in Balochistan Province was not being filled. They called upon the high-ups to appoint Pushtoon Governor forthwith.

Demanding the authorities to amend Balochistan Recruitment Policy, 1991, divide provincial sports and Youth Affairs department into two separate departments, they called on the authorities to conduct inquiry into irregularities and financial corruption committed in the Directorate General, Sports, Balochistan. Protest demonstration was addressed by Bashir Khan Boxer, Chairman, Haq Do Tehreek, Gran Bacha Central Organizer, Hafiz Rehmatullah Khan Nurzai, Senior Deputy Chairman, HDT, Quetta, noted youth activist of Balochistan, Syed Bilal Ahmed and others. Chanting slogans in favour of 31 points charter of demands, protesters dispersed peacefully.
