Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Haroon Akhtar Khan, led a high-level meeting today at the Ministry of Industries and Production to discuss the selection process for Board of Directors (BoDs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in key institutions.
Akhtar underscored the need for merit-based appointments, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision for transparency in governance.
The meeting focused on expediting the appointment process for CEOs, with Akhtar urging the Ministry to promptly submit profiles and names for vacant BoD positions. The aim is to ensure that capable leadership is placed at the helm of public sector organizations, whose performance he linked directly to the efficiency of their leadership teams.
Haroon Akhtar stressed that effective leadership is crucial for the success of government institutions and emphasized that appointments must reflect transparency and merit. In the next session, the proposed names for BoDs and CEOs will be presented for consideration.
