Health department approves health risk allowance summary

KARACHI:Sindh Health Department has approved health risk allowance for healthcare professional from July 01, 2020, till subsiding of Coronavirus pandemic.

“In continuation of this department order of even number dated 02 June 2020 and with the approval of competent authority (i.e. Chief Minister Sindh), the Government of Sindh has been pleased to allow health risk allowance to the remaining health personnel with effect from 01 July 2020, till subsiding of COVID-19 pandemic,” said a notification.

The Sindh Health Department has approved Rs 17,000 health risk allowance per month from BPS-01 to 16, Rs 35,000 for BPS-17 and above, Rs15,000 for PG students (PG), Rs10,000 House Job Officer (HJOs) and Rs3500 for nursing students.

Central Leaders of Grand Health Alliance (GHA); however, has rejected the Sindh Health Department summary and said authorities concerned had promised the approval of summary from 1st March instead of 01 July 2020.

They said Sindh Provincial Minister of Sindh for Education and Literacy Saeed Ghani and Provincial Minister of Sindh for Local Governments Syed Nasir Shah had assured health risk allowance from March 2020 but Finance Department has again created uncertainty in healthcare workers with agreeing to giving them this allowance from July.
