Karachi:Medico-Legal Department of Karachi has decided to make operational Medico-Legal Centre at Sindh Government Hospital Saudabad and Sindh Government Hospital Korangi to dispose of gender base violence and other legal cases within time period.
Presently, four medico-legal centres are operational in Karachi’s Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Sindh Government Hospital Qatar Hospital.
Karachi Police Surgeon, Dr Qarar Abbasi, while talking to PPI, said in the interest of general public and rapid response of medico-legal cases, two more medico-legal centres are being established in Government Hospital Saudabad and Government Hospital Korangi to cater to medico-legal cases within time period.
He informed that medico-legal officers (MLOs) and lady medico-legal officers would be deputed in these centres very soon. He said MLOs are of great significance to investigating all criminal cases and they can produce better results in investigating legal cases.
