Lahore: Heavy rain lashed Lahore on Sunday, affecting social and business life. Several parts of the metropolis gave a look of a pond. Rain-hit areas included Kot Lakhpat, Township, Industrial Area, Johar Town, Iqbal Town, and Green Town. Rain around Iqbal Town, Samanabad, Ichhra, Mozang, Mughalpura, Lal Pul, Fatehgarh, Tajpura, and Harbanspora. Gulshan Ravi, Chaubarji, Shamnagar, Sanda, and Civil Secretariat. Met office predicted stormy rains in many areas of Punjab as a new spell of monsoon entered Pakistan. Rain-wind/thundershower is expected in upper Punjab during the next 24 hours.
Heavy rains may generate urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Gujranwala on 08th and from 10th to 12th August. Flash flooding is expected in local Nullahs of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Shakargarh, Sialkot, Narowal, and Abbottabad.
