Hospital sanitary worker arrested and fired for performing ECG in Okara

In Okara, the district administration today took immediate strict action against a hospital employee, arresting him for performing an unauthorized electrocardiogram (ECG) on a patient and subsequently dismissing him from service.

Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javaid ordered the arrest of a sanitary worker named Rafiq Masih, who used an ECG device without the doctor’s permission. Concurrently, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent formally issued a letter confirming his dismissal from employment.

According to official sources, the individual was apparently performing an electrocardiogram on a relative without prior permission from a doctor, which is a clear violation of established hospital protocols.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that only trained and qualified personnel are authorized to conduct medical examinations on patients. He strictly stated that any violation of these guidelines would be met with a zero-tolerance approach. Instructions have been issued to the administration of DHQ South City Hospital to ensure strict monitoring of all departmental affairs to guarantee the provision of quality medical facilities to patients.
