The Meteorological Department today warned of extreme temperatures across most parts of the country, with forecasts of strong winds and thunderstorms in some places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining mountainous areas.
Morning temperatures reflect the start of this extreme weather pattern, with a hot day beginning at 28 degrees Celsius in Islamabad and 29 degrees Celsius in both Lahore and Karachi. Cooler conditions prevail in Peshawar with 26 degrees Celsius, while Quetta starts the day at 21 degrees Celsius. The mountainous areas of Gilgit and Murree experience mild weather, with temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
Different weather is expected in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to the forecast, major locations such as Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla will have partly cloudy skies accompanied by strong winds and stormy rains. This morning’s temperature was notably cooler, with 13 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Shopian, 26 degrees Celsius in Jammu, 2 degrees Celsius in Leh, and 14 degrees Celsius in Anantnag and Baramulla.
