KARACHI: IBA, Aga Khan University, Sir Syed University, and Indus University teams qualified for the semi-finals of the HEC Zone M Inter-University Volleyball Championship that was organized by the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The Chief Guest of the inaugural match was Shah Naeem Zafar, Secretary of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation who formally inaugurated the event. Teams from 9 universities of HEC Zone M are participating in the event.
The HEC Zone M Inter-University Volleyball Championship started at NED University Gymnasium and it was attended by Javed Ali Memon, Director Sports HEC, Shahid Masood, Secretary Sindh Volleyball Federation, Mubasher Mukhtar, Director Sports SSUET, Madam Farkhunda, Acting Manager Sports NED, Mohsin Ali Khan, Javed Iqbal, Nomanuddin and others.
The Chief Guest for the match played between Habib University and IBA was Dr. Waleej Haider, Chairman Computer Science Deportment of Sir Syed University, while the Chief Guest for the match played between Sir Syed University and Dow University was Dr. Mehnaz, Director Sports, Dow University.
According to the results, Sir Syed University defeated Newport Institute by 25-3 and 25-6, IoBM beat Indus University by 25-21 and 25-15, IBA beat Habib University by 25-16 and 25-15, Sir Syed University won against Dow University by 25-16 and 25-12, while Aga Khan University defeated NED University by 25-9 and 25-4.
In the semi-final, Sir Syed University will play against Indus University and IBA will face Aga Khan University.
