IHC Adjourns CDA Plot Allotment Hearing

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) postponed a hearing concerning the allocation of residential land to Capital Development Authority (CDA) personnel for two weeks on Friday. The tribunal ordered the CDA Member (Estate) to be present for the subsequent hearing. The distribution of residential properties to CDA staff has been a long-standing dispute, prompting discussions regarding openness, merit, and legal protocols.

Various worker organizations have pressed for prompt execution of allocation guidelines, while critics have voiced apprehensions about authority abuse and unfair distribution. Throughout the years, numerous legal challenges contesting the legitimacy of the allocations have been lodged, citing purported inconsistencies and preferential handling. The IHC has been overseeing the situation to guarantee adherence to established regulations and to resolve complaints from both active and retired personnel.

The upcoming presence of the CDA Member (Estate) is anticipated to shed light on the state of allocations and the agency’s strategy for settling outstanding disagreements.
