Imran, father of four children lynched to death in Bihar

Patna, October 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): A Muslim youth, Mohammad Azan Imran, was lynched to death by a Hindu mob in the Indian state of Bihar. Imran, a resident of Sudanpur, was thrashed brutally by the mob in Gangti area of Nawada district after they accused him of stealing a battery from a tractor. Sudanpur is hardly two kilometers away from Gangti village.

 

Imran, who is the father of four children, died as a result of his injuries while receiving treatment at a primary healthcare centre (PHC) in the area. He succumbed to his injuries on October 01. Jamil Akhtar, Imran’s father said that the incident occurred on Thursday.

 

Imran was a welding mechanic in his father’s iron-grill making shop in Sudanpur. “He (Imran) had gone to ask for the welding money,” Akthar said. “They accused him of theft and severely beat him. They also tried to mutilate him by hammering nails into his body,” he told media.

 

The attackers had also shackled his son’s limbs while thrashing, according to Akhtar. He sought harsh punishment for the killers of his son. At least ten persons were arrested from in Nawada district till Thursday, DSP Sanjay Prasad told media.
