As a significant diplomatic initiative, Pakistan’s National Assembly today passed a resolution to congratulate the Chinese government and its citizens on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This resolution highlights the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the commitment to further strengthen these relations in the coming decades.
The resolution, presented by Minister of Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, underscores an unwavering commitment to a reliable strategic cooperative alliance, especially during challenging times. The National Assembly expressed a strong intention for these relations to become more robust, multifaceted, and characterized by mutually beneficial cooperation over the next 75 years.
During the session, the Chinese delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress Shao Qiwei, observed the proceedings and was warmly welcomed by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and members from both government and opposition benches. The Speaker commented on the timely visit of the Chinese parliamentary delegation, which coincides with the 75th-anniversary celebrations.
Minister Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing this partnership, while opposition leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai described Pakistan and China as best friends. Syed Naveed Qamar acknowledged the efforts of the leaderships of both countries that have strengthened bilateral relations over the decades.
Among other developments in the Assembly, it was revealed that Karachi’s K-IV water project is set to be completed by the end of the year. Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Moen Wattoo highlighted the importance of this project for Karachi’s water supply in response to a call attention notice by Syed Aminul Haque and others, indicating that 94.67 billion rupees have been allocated for its completion.
The next session of the National Assembly is scheduled to be held on Friday at 11:00 AM, providing a platform for further discussions and developments.
