Inauguration Ceremony of Project for Strengthening of Training Center on Grid System Operations and Maintenance in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Islamabad, February 27, 2019 (PPI-OT): The inauguration ceremony for Project for Strengthening Training Center on Grid System Operations and Maintenance took place between H.E. Mr. Yusuke Shindo, Charge d’ Affaires, Embassy of Japan in Pakistan and H.E. Mr. Omar Ayub Khan, Federal Minister for Energy, Government of Pakistan.

The grant for “Project for Strengthening Training Center on Grid System Operations and Maintenance” was used for the installation of Grid Training Simulator and Classroom Building at New Kot Lakhpat training center of Technical Services Group (TSG) of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC). With the Simulator, it is expected that the improved capacity of Grid Stations and Protection Relays training function will serve for operations and maintenance of Grid Stations.

H.E. Mr. Yusuke Shindo, Charge d’ Affaires, Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, emphasized the hope that this cooperation will support the work of the government of Pakistan to have sustainable development through this project and would strengthen the existing bond of friendship between the two countries.

At the ceremony, Mr. Takashima Akihiro, Senior Representative of JICA Pakistan Office said “Installation of this cutting edge training simulator would significantly contribute to impart practical and quality trainings to NTDC engineers responsible for operation and maintenance of the Grid System”.
