India asked to permanently resolve Kashmir dispute

Islamabad, June 18, 2020 (PPI-OT): Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Syed Aijaz Rehmani has urged India to permanently settle the Kashmir dispute instead of using brute force to suppress the Kashmir liberation movement. Syed Aijaz Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that meaningful and result-oriented dialogue among India, Pakistan and the Hurriyat leadership was the best way to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

He paid glowing tributes to the recently martyred Kashmiri youth and said that their unprecedented sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste. He also demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory.

Syed Aijaz Rehmani expressed sorrow over the United Nations that gave Indian the seat of non-permanent member of the Security Council for a two-year term. He said that New Delhi should not have been allowed to even apply for the membership of this august body as it was violating international law and committing extrajudicial killings in occupied Kashmir besides targeting civilians living along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
