Srinagar, February 03, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that forcing Kashmiris into submission by using dictatorial and oppressive means is only day-dream of Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges.
The resistance leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar said that spree of arrests, raids, imposition of curfew and restrictions and other oppressive tactics were a glaring example of the farce Indian democracy practiced in occupied Kashmir. They said that gruesome killings in Shopian and a complete ban on mourning are not only inhuman but also acts of state terrorism.
The resistance leaders while strongly condemning the use of force by the puppet authorities to prevent a peaceful protest programme said that spree of arrests, stringent restrictions, curfew and barricades, intimidations and threats were actually the real face of Indian democracy practiced in the occupied territory. “The farce of Indian democracy in Kashmir yet again stands exposed before the international community and people of India as Indian rulers and their Kashmiri stooges chose to suppress people’s voices by military might,” they said.
The leaders said that Friday’s march towards Shopian town was actually a protest against gruesome killing of innocents seven of whom lost their lives within one week in Shopian. This was a protest against the growing attacks on women, mothers of small babies who got brutalized by Indian occupation forces recently and among whom two are still battling for their lives in hospitals, they added.
The resistance leaders said that Kashmir had been turned into a slaughter house as no one was safe and death and destruction was being celebrated by the oppressors. Though this genocide is going on from last many decades but the way Indian soldiers at the behest of their political masters have expedited this killing spree from last some months, it has turned utterly horrible and unbearable now, they deplored. They said, the Kashmiris cannot tolerate this genocide silently and the Hurriyat leadership will do whatever possible to stop it.
The statement said actually this massacre and genocide by Indian armed men is consequence of the immunity provided to them by pro-India Kashmiri politicians, assembly, parliament and Panchayat members and their parties who legislate and implement laws like AFSPA to shelter these criminals and crimes and also stage dramas in and outside the so-called assembly to deviate attention from these crimes.
The leaders deplored that on one hand, the armed soldiers of India who look at Kashmir as their colony and slaughter humans with impunity while on the other, these so-called rulers and assembly members, after every massacre and killing, come out with announcements of so-called probes and condemnations.
They said Indian rulers and their Kashmiri stooges have expedited massacring of Kashmiris to end their resistance against illegal Indian occupation but they should know that harsh measures and military might never succeed in defeating people’s aspiration for freedom and self-determination. They said that Kashmiris have been facing Indian brazenness from last many decades and would continue their just struggle till they achieved their cherished goal.
Meanwhile, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Muhammad Sultan Magray, and General Secretary, Merajuddin Soleh, at a party meeting in Srinagar denounced the puppet authorities for imposing restrictions and detaining Hurriyat leadership to prevent a march towards Shopian town, yesterday.
